Project description
When there is a food safety outbreak, it generally takes ages to find the potentially incriminated food products and lots. In addition to exposing humans to sanitary risks for months, such scandals can kill the economy of an entire industry. The Fipronil scandal has shown us recently that there is no effective nor efficient callback system in place that could be activated easily - directly on the concerned products - via a user-friendly IT solution. Our complementary teams of IT and Food Business experts have decided to join forces to create TAGsparency: an (online) blockchain-based multiservice platform that aims at ensuring multi-party and transparent information disclosure over Food and Beverages (F&B) products. Our objective is to build a blockchain-secured platform that will provide relevant information for both professionals and final customers and that will change the way food is produced, distributed and consumed while enabling an unprecedented level of food safety.
