Project description
Throughout history, female top athletes have had to cope with the hormonal fluctuations and variability in physiological condition of their body and mind due to their menstrual cycle, easily making wrong decisions that adversely affect their performance and training efficacy. Based on a scientific approach it is possible to guide the athlete much more precisely through this process, which allows to avoid overload injuries, speed up physical condition progress, and achieve better psychological well-being. We aim to set up tools (monitoring of bio-markers, app/platform, artificial intelligence) that enable this precision guiding to levels that have not been possible to date.
Issue addressed by the project
female top sport differs from male top sport because of the hormonal cycle, yet solutions to address this have relied on incomplete data at best or the cycle was completely ignored at worst.
Solution(s) brought by the project
- The project will greatly improve the efficacy of female top athletes during preparation for peak performances, and reduce the probability of injuries or mental hick-ups. Furthermore it will lead to better insights in how the hormonal cycle (and potentially other parameters) affects performance and risk of injury.
Project need(s)
- We need validation of the idea and how relevant such innovative approach might be in today's already professional landscape surrounding female top sports.
